Abstract:Japanese “modernism” poetry was originated in Dalian which was a colonial city of Japan instead of mainland of Japan itself. However, the history of Japanese poetry has never been given an objective and fair judgment. A group of Asian poets lead by Anzai Fuyue was inspired by the internationalized and modern city of Dalian which was once compared to “the oriental Paris”. They developed their poem writing with their inspiration and imagination of “modernism” and cultivated the occurrence of Japanese “modernism” poetry. Anzai Fuyue’s poems under the background of colony demonstrate the complicating features of diversity and contradiction of the Japanese “modernism” poetry.
