    Abstract:

    This empirical research studies on the fit between compensation and strategy by the data of 185 firms It compares two kinds of fits: fit as mediation, fit as moderation This research supports fit as mediation, refuses fit as moderation, resolves a longstanding dispute Strategy can not produce the proper compensation to fit itself Firms need come up with appropriate compensation to fit its strategy At last, we give some advices to practicers
