Research method is a key part in a research, and it is very important for reseachers to do a research under the guidance of scientific method. As an independent discipline, translation studies should have its own methodology and emphasize that the translation studies should be guided by scientific methodology. To help translation researchers have a clearer and more systematic understanding of research methods in translation studies, the author sums and analyzes the research methods of the two main kinds of research in translation studies, that is, theoretical research and empirical research.
