Abstract:From the ways of distribution, flat plane, color configuration, whole layout, and aesthetic ideology, this paper explores the spatial characteristics of the frescoes on Jueyuan Temple in Jiange, Guangyuan. Then it analyzes how to lay out, partition, convert and connect the space during the conversion from the stories to the fresco-creation. The paper then inquires into the hidden spatial concept and the feature of spatial composition which the elements, such as the painting modeling, shape, boundary and color configuration, are all involved in. This paper also analyzes the artistic characteristics of the spatial arrangement as a coherent whole and its key formation. Finally, this paper expounds that the visual aesthetics composed by the color fading endow Jueyuan fresco with the new artistic formation and connotation.
