Chinese comparative literature has revived and been reestablished in China for 30 years with outstanding achievement, of which the study on the relationship between the literature of China and other countries is prominent both in quantity and quality. Generations of scholars devoted either to unearthing and organizing the historical facts or to the study on the original localization of foreign literature accumulated remarkable knowledge in the standpoints, notions and methods of the study on the relationship between the literature of China and other countries. Chinese comparative literature is now at a crucial historical stage of development with globalization and many obstacles to combat, and the relationship between the literature of China and other countries, as one of the most active fields of research, can be studied for the reflection on and depiction of native modern culture and literary experience of China, and the expansion of literary and cultural dialogue between Chinese and foreign literature on the basis of equality.
