Abstract:As the earlier awakened group of people, the western modern women writers have very strong self consciousness and appeal of anti-alienation to gain gender equality and harmony between man and woman. Take American Southern female writer Carson McCullers and the characters in her works as examples, this paper studies on the images of the group of "Transgender" created by her, and analyzes the instinctive appeal of the "Androgyny" or "Transgender" in dealing with spirit isolation, their anti-alienation request to pursue self-ego in the value system of rationalism, and the loss of self-ego when their appeal fails.
