Abstract:On the basis of a statical test of 16 specimens of coupling beams in shear walls,which consist of 10 specimens with ordinary rinforcement and 6 specimens with composite reinforce-ment,the statical behaviors of the coupling beams with two different types of reinforcement arestudied.It is concluded that the flexural strength 0f the beam should be multiplied by a reductionfactor when the span-depth ratio is less than 2,and the shear strength is not influenced by the span-depth ratio and may be obtained with unified calculation formula.
