In this paper the necessity and urgency of reforming the operating mechanism of building market are discussed.It suggests that the improvement of quality of builing engineering in China can be ensured in aspects of system and operating mechanism only through the reforms in responsibility mechanism, competition mechanism,supply and demand mechanism,price mechanism,security mechanism and supervision and control mechanism.
