In general hospitals more and more image information has been created, it is critical to have an efficient and convenient way to store, rapid transmission and processing. A new idea of online permanent storage based on SAN structure for image files is presented and a Picture Archiving and Communication System(PACS) design project based on SAN structure is discussed.
