The structure and work theory of a new type of hydraulic lock of the thinnest coal seam shearer is described in this paper. Its performance tests have been done the test results show that the performance of hydraulic lock is satisfactory and can be fit for the needs of locking and floating of the cutting drum of the thinnest coal seam shearer
