Abstract:
To the question how to improve the machining precision of globoid worm at an easy rate,a method that uses cooridinate measurements of real tooth surface of globoid worm is proposed. It can determine the real applied machine tool settings. The deviation of the real tooth surface from the theoretical one,can be indentified by the method. The deviation can be minimized by correction of the machine tool settings,the machining precision of globoid worm be improved by the same machine. Validity of the method is verified by succeeding manufacturing experiment. On the other side,only one helix is needed to be measured,then the error of machine tool settings can be identified under the condition of adequate measured points,so the measured efficiency of worm is improved.
