In the Information Age, an urgent problem facing the present-day architecture informationization in China is how to effectively utilize new computer technology to improve production efficiency in the building industry. GDL computer technology is a new technology designed for developing smart and parametric building models. By making an in-depth study of GDL technological theories and its fundamental features and taking into consideration the status quo of its application, the authors put forward the development and application modes of GDL computer technology in the field of architecture informationization and analyze specific solutions as well as its prospects, so as to provide the theoretical basis for and solutions to accelerating the architecture informationization process and offer a new technological means of enhancing productivity in the building industry.
