I analyzed the situation of modern higher education in P. R. China, and proposed that a unique teaching mode for landscape architecture was needed in local colleges and universities. The teaching mode should combine and reflect local characteristics of society, economy, and culture, which can enhance competitive strength of local colleges and universities.
