In June 2010, the Ministry of Education initiated the excellent engineer education program, put forward the system of school-enterprise cooperation, reformed the engineering curriculum, improved the students’ social practice ability, paid attention to practice and business practice, strengthened the quality of teaching team, improved engineering education mode, enhanced the students’ professional quality. The paper discussed the applications of excellent engineer education program in civil engineering specialty, put forward the direction of civil engineering reform and the talent training target based on excellent engineer education program. It can promote the development of civil engineering, implement the plan effectively.
