Based on the teaching reform of product design specialty in independent colleges, characteristics of product design majors in independent colleges, requirements for product design majors, the traditional teaching methods, and existing problems were analyzed. Then suggestions on the product design course teaching were put forward to strengthen the discipline construction of product design specialty in independent colleges.
