Exploration of postgraduate cultivation in architectural discipline under the mode of “integration of school and institute”

    Abstract:

    There are some problems on the unbalance between attaching importance to theoretical study and neglecting specialty practice in postgraduate training of professional degree in architecture. This paper introduces the reform of graduate cultivating mode of architecture under the mode of "integration of school and institute" in School of Architecture, Harbin Institute of Technology. That is starting with innovation of the cultivating mode, which adds courses such as open design and special subject of architecture to curriculum, improves practice part with joint design studio, joint scientific and other works. Meanwhile, it also solves the problems including sluggish nurturing aim, weak curriculum setting, formalized practice process and etc.
