Considering the demand of industrial transformation in the context of the stock era and the teaching objectives of local colleges and universities, this paper tried to research on the teaching model of urban design in urban and rural planning major. Taking Suzhou University of Science and Technology as an example,the inquiry model in undergraduate stratified teaching and the situational model in graduate classified teaching were put forward, and the practical experiences of teaching and problems were summarized, which can be a reference to the urban design teaching reform in local colleges and universities.
