Abstract:In the current architectural design education, there are many problems in the teaching carrier, such as the simplification of architectural type, the fixation of design content, and the disconnection of architecture and region. This paper attempts to introduce the design theory and method of critical regionalism into the teaching of architectural design course in the second grade by combing the development process of architectural design education and combining the development trend of architectural design theory. The teaching carrier is taken as an example to reform and explore in five aspects such as training objective, teaching approach, teaching content, teaching object and teaching results, which plays a driving role in improving the teaching quality, teachers’ initiative, students’ innovation and the exploration of non historical regional and modern local architectural design methods.
