    Abstract:

    As a new type of education form, red research and study, with red culture as the cornerstone, through the linkage of school education and out-of-school education, and the combination of theoretical education and practical social education to purposeful, organized and planned to guide the students to revisit the holy land of the revolution, and to experience the glorious history of the Communist Party of China. Red research and study, has a clear political orientation, a strong characteristics of the times and scientific integration, the integration of red research and study into patriotism education in colleges and universities contributes to the inheritance and promotion of red culture and strengthen cultural confidence; to teach the ideological and political theory course well and implement the fundamental task of cultivating morality and nurturing people; to strengthen young students' beliefs and cultivate patriotic sentiments. Based on the background of the new era, using red research and study to promote patriotism education in colleges and universities should focus on the four dimensions of grasping the rules of education, enriching the content of education, optimizing the educational environment and strengthening safeguards, so as to effectively enhance the effectiveness of patriotism education in colleges and universities in the new era.
