    Abstract:

Abstract: The grasp is lacking in the cultivation of practical innovation ability of application-oriented undergraduates. After more than ten years of exploration, a dual return path of "extracurricular-in-class-extra-curricular" and "all-staff-top-notch-all" has been explored. Using this route could from point to area , the old to the new, and the excellent students to drive ordinary students in cultivate innovation ability in practice, and improved students' initiative and participation in innovative practice. The construction of this path started from the top-level design, and scientifically builds an innovative talent training system that combines in-class teaching and extra-curricular practice. At the same time, the teacher built a reasonable and effective innovation platform for students to integrate competition and education to ensure that the training of innovative ability extends from in-class to extra-curricular. Finally, the teacher optimized the selection mechanism, categorized and cultivated students' practical innovation ability, established the main status of students in innovative practice, and ensured the training effect. This method was implemented in the School of Civil Engineering & Architecture. The effectiveness of the dual return path in cultivating innovation ability was reflected in the students' awards in competitions, the quality and quantity of innovation results, employment rate, employer satisfaction feedback, and graduate satisfaction surveys.
