Abstract:The practical teaching in graduate education is an important part of cultivating outstanding engineering talents (i.e., innovative and entrepreneurial). The current practical teaching is lack of the characteristics of engineering, practice, inquiry and inspiration. The core orientation of this research is the construction of emerging engineering education. Based on the major engineering projects and interdisciplinary researching, an innovative practical teaching platform was developed for the cultivation of postgraduates of geotechnical engineering. To highlight the central position of students, a multi-interface teaching mode was recommended, which achieves the reconstruction of curriculum system, teaching content and teaching method. The reform of practical teaching activated the frontier cross research, and the quality of personnel training had been greatly improved, which promoted the transformation and upgrading of the discipline of geotechnical engineering in our college.
