Abstract:Civil engineering is one of the most representative traditional engineering specialties. It is of great practical significance to formulate a reasonable curriculum program for civil engineering undergraduate in order to train high-quality talents and promote the construction of New Engineering Education. The core contents of civil engineering undergraduate curriculum program in University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) were analyzed. Especially, the relevant contents and regulations of the curriculum program were interpreted in detail. Some important measures in this program, including paying attention to the teaching of basic theory course, selecting advanced technical courses in primary and secondary fields, offering science and technology composition course, assigning each faculty as undergraduate advisees (The Faculty Advisor) and so on, can play a positive role in the undergraduate education reform of China.
