Abstract:
The improvement of the quality of new engineering education urgently requires active reform and innovative development of the emerging engineering learning model. The emerging engineering learning model is an engineering learning activity structure constructed to create meaningful learning experiences for the emerging engineering learning community and cultivate engineering technology innovation and entrepreneurial talents in the era of intelligent information. The "quaternary theory" of science, technology, engineering, and industry, knowledge production model theory in universities and learning science theories, together constitute the theoretical basis of the emerging engineering learning model. With Olin College of Engineer and the Guangdong-Hong Kong Robotics Joint Institute as the research objects, based on the perspective of the emerging engineering learning ecosystem, a systematic analysis, comparison and research of emerging engineering learning models are carried out. By comparing the similarities and differences of the emerging engineering learning models in China and America, and analyzing the emerging challenges of the emerging engineering learning models, it is found that the logical starting point of the emerging engineering learning models is the intersection of multiple disciplines, the integration of production, learning and research and the unification of learning, practice, and innovation. Draw lessons from the innovative genes of the emerging engineering learning model in China and America, and propose new strategies to promote the sustainable development of my country’s emerging engineering learning model, with a view to providing theoretical guidance and practical reference for the construction of emerging engineering and the implementation of the Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program 2.0 in China.
