Abstract:
Beaux-Arts composition is based on the logic of mathematics and geometry to achieve the causal transformation of space and form, and the creation and expression of cubist visual art has influenced the spatial cognition of modern architecture that started from the plane. The education reform of the Texas Rangers balanced between Beaux-Arts education and Bauhaus education, pointing to the "spatial education" of "modern architecture can be taught", and then turn to the spatial exercise of architectural autonomy. From the Texas Rangers education to the Cooper Union education, as an architecture design basic course, the Nine Square Problem has become a composition paradigm of modern architecture, a powerful tool for modern architectural spatial teaching, a formal language and a kind of architectural thought, and its spatial thought and spatial exercise have been focused on autonomous generation of architectural space to make architecture a language that needs to be learned, through abstract forms and spatial reasoning of the relationship between parts and the whole.
