    Abstract:

In the process of educational reform, in response to existing common problems in architectural design teaching, such as old topics, poor student learning initiative, and lack of multidisciplinary integration, the Department of Architecture of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Chongqing University is building a “new” wooden architecture design course based on the original “Chongqing University Construction Season” course in response to the new engineering construction requirements. In this paper, firstly, the background of the construction of a new engineering course in architectural design was briefly introduced. By analyzing the trends and characteristics of engineering educational reform, and reviewing the origin and development of relevant educational concepts, it was proposed to set curriculum goals for the future, implement the educational concepts of “student-centered” and “learning in practice” in teaching, and actively carry out the new concept of "interdisciplinary education is the exploration and practice of engineering education in domestic engineering colleges", and construct new models for talent training. The main features of the current reform of wooden architecture design courses are mainly described in the text of the paper. Compared with the educational reform of architectural design courses in other institutions, the Department of Architecture of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Chongqing University has made the following efforts: 1. tried to take the country's “carbon peaking and carbon neutrality” strategy as the overall goal of curriculum construction; 2. established a student-centered teaching model, organized courses based on projects, and used real construction operations to improve students' contextual learning; 3. improved the teaching system and gradually formed a multi-stage curriculum connecting the undergraduate and postgraduate courses to enhance curriculum flexibility and depth of research; 4. organized teaching according to students' needs, and built a “teacher-student research community” in teaching process; 5. actively created new mechanisms to achieve multi-major and school-enterprise cooperative education, and constructed a teaching platform in different phases. Through a period of exploration and practice, the educational reform of architectural wood architecture design course in Chongqing University has achieved phased results and formed a greater social influence.
