Abstract:The problem of doctoral students " delayed graduation has been widely concerned by the academic circles and the society, which has many negative effects on the development of doctoral students and the training efficiency of doctoral students in colleges and universities. Through the analysis of the current situation, causes and essence of the delayed completion of doctoral students in architecture, it is found that whether doctoral students in architecture can graduate on schedule is affected by five dimensions and many factors, such as individual, tutor, team, discipline and system. Individual level : it is difficult to transform perceptual design thinking into rational logical thinking, the foundation is weak and the investment is insufficient ; instructor level : the imbalance of the dual identity of designers and researchers, the absence of guidance and the alienation of the relationship between guidance and learning ; at the team level : the " mentoring " model is mismatched with the needs of modern scientific research, and the needs of individuals and teams are misplaced ; discipline level : mismatch between knowledge method and evaluation system, lack of empirical research ; institutional level : Improper training mechanism and assessment mechanism lead to the failure of system implementation. In order to provide a useful reference for improving the training mode of doctoral students in architecture and reducing the delay rate, this paper puts forward some measures, such as adjusting the basic academic years of doctoral students in architecture, implementing multiple evaluation system based on discipline differences, expanding the training mode of through system, constructing academic research echelon, optimizing the evaluation system of tutors, and establishing academic assistance mechanism.
