Abstract:The reform policy has played a decisive and pivotal role in the governance of higher engineering education in China. Under the guidance of this policy, China"s higher engineering education has transformed governance thinking, shifting from administrative logic to academic logic. The governance goal has also evolved from serving industrial construction to supporting industrial upgrading. Furthermore, there has been a shift in the governance pattern from top-down decision-making to multiple coordination. As a result, the implications of governance have become increasingly prominent, and remarkable achievements have been made. However, China"s engineering education still has governance dilemmas such as the governance concept to be updated, imperfect collaborative governance mechanism, and lack of supervision and evaluation mechanism. It needs to further improve governance mechanisms and efficiency through optimizing processes, perfecting norms, and feedback evaluation.
