    Abstract:

    Taking the ideological and political education of the course "Principles of Hydrology" as an example, focusing on the cultivation of professional knowledge and abilities as well as ideological and political education, the overall design of the course"s ideological and political education is carried out from the aspects of cultivating materialistic dialectics thinking, promoting excellent national culture and inspiring patriotism, advocating a sense of responsibility for the world and people"s livelihoods, stimulating a sense of responsibility and mission for science and technology to serve the country, and shaping the spirit of innovation and pragmatism in the new era. Teaching research and practice on improving the effectiveness of ideological and political education are carried out from the perspectives of cultivating moral character, classroom teaching, constructing ideological and political case libraries, the teachers and the students. The research results are helpful for the organization and implementation of ideological and political education in the "Principles of Hydrology" course, and for the organic integration of professional knowledge education and the ideological and political education. This research is beneficial for improving the educational effect of ideological and political education in the and can provide useful references for the implementation of ideological and political education activities in "Principles of Hydrology" and other courses in universities.
