Abstract:Intelligent construction is the product of the integration and development of civil engineering and information technology under the background of emerging engineering education. It is leading the construction industry into a new stage characterized by digitalization, intelligence, and sustainability. In order to better meet the demand for interdisciplinary training of professionals in intelligent construction under the emerging engineering paradigm, this paper explores a "new model of cognitive internship for the intelligent construction program" and proposes a practical teaching pathway that features cross-disciplinary integration across multiple subjects and levels. This model integrates thematic lectures, base visits, and engineering case studies to systematically introduce technologies such as blockchain, BIM, intelligent sensing, green construction, and digital twins. By breaking the boundaries of traditional disciplines, the model enhances students" interdisciplinary awareness and application capabilities. After summarizing six internship activities, this paper analyzes the effectiveness of the cognitive internship in promoting practical teaching reform. It offers strategic suggestions such as improving course module design, promoting university-enterprise collaborative education, and establishing a modular teaching system. Research indicates that this model helps students gain a comprehensive understanding of intelligent construction technologies, enhances their integrated practical skills and engineering innovation awareness, and provides a feasible pathway and theoretical support for cultivating intelligent construction talents under the new engineering background.
