    Abstract:

With the continuous improvement of higher education quality and international influence in China, the number of students from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas Chinese communities pursuing advanced studies in mainland universities has been expanding. As the “highest institution for overseas Chinese”, Jinan University hosts the largest such student cohort among mainland universities and bears the unique mission of cultivating high-quality talents for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas societies. Based on the strategic requirements of overseas Chinese higher education in the new era, this paper focuses on core issues in cultivating civil engineering students from these regions at Jinan University, systematically constructing a trinity talent cultivation model of “ideological and political education guidance—curriculum-driven—digital empowerment” oriented toward new quality productive forces. Through a three-dimensional integrated ideological and political education system of “strategic guidance—cultural immersion—professional practice”, a pyramid-shaped curriculum cluster for new quality productive forces, and a metaverse cross-border collaborative practice platform, this model addresses practical challenges such as misaligned cultivation plans, lagging integration of new quality productive forces, and limited practical fields. It aims to supply high-quality civil engineering talents with patriotic sentiment and international vision, adaptable to future engineering construction and industrial development needs for the nation, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and overseas societies.
