    Abstract:

    Based on the experience of three bridge graphic design contests in academy level, Fuzhou University held the first contest in university level successfully, which aimed at inspiring students’ innovation, team spirit and manipulative ability, as well as enriching the teaching content of bridge engineering. The theme of this contest was a footbridge in Fuzhou University in new district, and the participants present their conceptual design in the form of graphics and text. The result shows that such kind of contest can broaden students’ horizon and stimulate their creativity and learning enthusiasm effectively through participation in the competition. The teaching group of bridge engineering in Fuzhou University summarized the corresponding experience, and conducted a study on the sustainable development of bridge graphic design contest. The study results provide better ideas for the next contest and valuable experience to other universities to organize a similar competition or carry out practical teaching reform.
