    Abstract:

    Workshop is a kind of new teaching modewhich emphasizes on strengthening students' abilities in a short term, and its essence is to help people complete some complex and challenging work by group pressure and effective guidance."The design of canopy based on origami art" is taken as an example, which is conducted by School of Civil Engineering of Southeast University and The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. The paper illustrates the results and characteristics of this workshop in detail. By cross grouping of students from different countries, the teacher's professional guidance and the final display and communication of the works, this workshop explores the application of deployable structure in the architectural art and various lighting effects it can achieve. In addition, the realization of architectural form combining origami is discussed from the perspective of the structural design. Thestudents learn to seek innovation from the differences through this activity. Workshop provides some guides for exploring how to effectively build the abilities in the respects of innovation, design, cooperation, and intercultural communication of students.
