The paper focuses on the application of the musical therapy in college music education Musical therapy has been advocated to be used in the realm of college students’ quality education in music The result shows: music is the best way to express one’s feeling, the key to open one’s heart, an outlet for one’s emotional catharsis The evaluation towards the situation of the students’ mental state indicates that the application of the musical therapy in college music education has apparent effect upon the improvement of interpersonal relationship and the overcoming of anxiety, blahs and crankiness In the meantime, it also proves that the mode of musical therapy in music education can play important role in taking precaution against the psychological fallout of the college students
