In this paper,based on energy technology innovation perspective,using the “selection-competition-adaptation” mechanism of evolutionary economics,we study the transformation process of coal resource-based economies. We think that mechanism of energy technology innovation to promote the energy structure and industry evolution is the realized path of coal resource-based economies transformation. Finally,taking USA as an example,we analyze the characteristics and teachings of energy technology innovation policies.
