针对我国区域经济发展现状，分析现存区域经济理论的不当导向，结合对世界特别是西太平洋地带设立经济自由区的国家（地区）经济发展规律的研究，提出在西部建立自由贸易区作为经济增长点，带动西部经济跳跃发展的新思路。
