China’s small towns’ construction should not only refer to developed countries’ successful experiences, but avoid detours they have encountered. According to the requirement of the 17th Convention of the Communist Party of China, we should choose an urbanization way with Chinese characteristics. Instead of discussing some macroscopic problems such as how to choose the way of urbanization, this study tries to conclude some regularity practices of small towns construction from developed countries such as America, Japan and Germany based on some concrete problems, and puts forward some suggestions which should be appropriate for China’s actual conditions and its small towns construction.
