All-China Society of College Journals in Humanities and Social Sciences (CSCJHS) has organized four evaluations since it was established 25 years ago. In the interview, Mr. Pan Guoqi, an organizer and witness of all these four evaluations, elaborated on their background and achievements and put forward his improvement suggestions. Mr. Pan submitted that the primary mission of the Academy is to promote development of university journals and evaluation is an effective instrument to this end. The four evaluations brought about profound effects by demonstrating achievements, providing guidance, setting examples and lifting morale, so as to cultivate prestigious university journals, encourage fair competition, and promote development of university journals. Mr. Pan suggested that the evaluation standards be improved, the judge appointment rules revised and a dynamic management system established, to ensure the healthy and sustainable development of university journal evaluations.
