Abstract:The paper conducted an evaluation research on the humanities and social sciences competitiveness of 778 Chinese undergraduate universities.Firstly,the overall competitiveness was analyzed.Then we analyzed their competitiveness in details from platform,region,type,and input-output.It turned out that there is highly skewed distribution of competitiveness among those Chinese universities.Those universities with superior platform and located in the region with higher economic level behave better; comprehensive,polytechnic,and normal universities are the main force of the humanities and social sciences research in China; there is a strongly positive relationship between the input and the output,suggesting that in future every university should try its best to strive for more investment.In the end,this paper provided some suggestions for the scientific evaluation and resource allocation of higher education.
