Abstract:Using Chinas export trade panel data with 60 trading partners along The Belt and Road, from the interactive perspective of culture and trade, this paper quantifies cultural communication effects by constructing a comprehensive evaluation index system including five first-level indicators and 13 second-level indicators, and using spatial Dubin model to study the influence of spatio-temporal evolution of Chinese culture promotion by the Confucius Institute on export. Our empirical evidence shows that:Firstly, while the scale of Chinese communication promoting by Confucius Institutes in countries along The Belt and Road has risen steadily, but the quality of communication is low, the sustainable development is slow and the comprehensive influence is uneven. The overall potential and quality of promoting communication and exchange between cultures and nations needs to be further developed. Secondly, cross-cultural communication arouse by Confucius Institutes has a positive role in increasing Chinas exports to the countries along The Belt and Road. There is not only a significant interaction effect on the countries (regions) in which they are located, but also positive spillover effects on neighboring countries.

Abstract:With the further advance of Chinas market-oriented reform, the traditional economic development model is unsustainable. Adjusting the industrial structure, eliminating backward production capacity, vigorously developing hi-tech industry gradually become a consensus. Based on the panel data of 30 provinces (cities and districts) in 2000-2014, this paper firstly studies the interactive mechanism between FDI and high tech industry agglomeration. And then through the relevant theoretical analysis, it concludes that the FDI, and new economic geography factor and high tech industry agglomeration among the internal mechanism. On this basis, by constructing the location entropy index of the hi-tech industry cluster, this paper constructs the panel simultaneous equation empirical model(SEM)between the three with dividing the eastern, central and western three areas respectively empirical test. Research results show, as a whole, the FDI and high tech industry agglomeration promote each other, new economic geography factors also favor the high tech industry cluster. But there are some differences in the eastern middle and western regions.

Abstract:Considering the drawbacks of the traditional methodology in analyzing industrial agglomeration, regional division of labour and industrial relocation on basis of a single indicator of scale or efficiency from the perspective of perfect competition, we choose to analyze industrial relocation and Structural Optimization of Manufacturing Sectors in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei on basis of a combined indicators of scale and efficiency from the perspective of imperfect competition. From our method stem out two obvious advantages: 1) the driving forces, features and nature of relocation of relevant industries are extracted; 2) the method lends itself to the zeroing in priorities in the process of industrial relocation. From our analysis a two-dimensional diagram of industrial relocation and structural optimization is derived, with the area of relocating and area of structural optimization indicating respectively the key sectors involved in industrial relocation and structural optimization.
