    Abstract:

In the third chapter of Aristotle’s Poetics ,there is a wellknown “aside”,which is one of the most difficult paragraphs to interpret in the whole book. By examining and analyzing this paragraph, this paper tries to indicate that what Poetics discusses is not theory of literature and art,nor the problems of aesthetics, but the problems of political philosophy. By way of joking, this “aside” implies that because there are politeias with stature and inferior, that’s why there are poetrymaking with stature and inferior.
