    Abstract:

The industrial revolution has greatly impacted the global environment, leading to the deteriorating of human’s living condition and the breaking out of ecological crisis, which caught the attention of global community. Since the 1960s, with the release of The Limit of Growth by The Club of Rome, international community began to reflect the origin of ecological crisis. This article contends that the roots of ecological crisis lie in the industrial civilization based on Capitalism which means a new type of civilization beyond capitalism is in need. This article argues that Marxism actually contains the solution to the crisis. By the localization of Marxism, Chinese Communist Party is constructing ecological civilization with Chinese traits which paves the way to the real solution to ecological crisis.
