    • A quantitative criterion for mechanical hinge and its application on collapse analysis of reinforced concrete structures

      Abstract:To evaluate the collapse-resistant capacity of reinforced concrete (RC) frame structures, a quantitative criterion for mechanical hinge formation is proposed. Numerical simulation of RC frame joints is performed and verified using experimental results. A mechanical-hinge-based collapse criterion of structures is established. The criterion is used for the collapse analysis of a two-story reinforced concrete frame structure. The analysis results show that compared to the plastic-hinge-based criterion, the mechanical-hinge-based criterion works better for simulating the structural collapse and predicting the collapse resistance of RC frame structures.

    • Effect of beam size on behavior of RC deep beams strengthened in shear with U-wrapping CFRP strips

      Abstract:Size effect of reinforced concrete(RC) beams strengthened in shear with U-wrapping carbon fiber-reinforced polymer was investigated by designing two types of similar geometry beams, named large and small beam. The results indicated that the shear contribution of CFRP strips is associated with beam size. CFRP shear contribution of small beam is superior to large beam. Besides, in small beam, calculative CFRP shear contribution is smaller than actual CFRP shear contribution, while in larger beam is opposite. The shear value of CFRP strips increase with the loading level increasing, and the increasing speed in large beam is faster than small beam. At the same loading level, CFRP shear value of large beam is higher than small beam.

      Abstract:Experiment on shrinkage and creep properties of six large size ultra-high strength reinforced concrete columns were carried out. According to the condition of force balance and deformation coordination between concrete and steel, the influence coefficient formula of reinforced concrete creep coefficient is derived. Based on the 209R ACI (1992) creep model, the modified creep prediction model was proposed by introducing the influence coefficient of the strength correction factor and the reinforcement effect coefficient.

      Abstract:The primary and secondary truss, inclined elliptical section steel column, steel pipe lattice type inclined column, single-layer ellipsoidal shell and fisheye structure together to form a complex of large span station buildings. In order to further understand the mechanical properties of the structure, the test model of the structure was designed and the model of static loading test was completed. The model design process, basic unit of structure in vertical interception, which covers the main structural characteristics of the roof, and made 1 to 20 large scaled model. In the model design, the similarity ratio of each parameter is determined, and then the support condition between the roof structure and the lower structure is simulated. In order to verify the rationality of the scale model, the actual model and test the model using the finite element software to verify the similarity principle. The verification results show that the scale structure model can the basic mechanical behavior of the actual structure of the reaction. The research results of this paper can provide reference for the design and manufacture of similar engineering model test.

      Abstract:Elastic and plastic dynamic time history analysis of a Super high-rise residential buildings in Xinjiang was performed by Midas-Building to study the elastic- plastic behavior under the rare earthquake, to study the damage and yield of the components and to find out the structure of the weak layer of the structure and weak component to provide some suggestions for seismic design. Analyses results show that the maximum story drift ratio is less than 1/100 which fulfills the limitation requirement, most of the beam damage occurs, main shear walls suffer little plastic damage and no obvious weak parts of structure is found .Although the Super high-rise residential locates in the high seismic intensity zone ,but the structure can achieve the goal of seismic design requirements through the reasonable structural arrangement and calculation analysis.

      Abstract:Based on the scaffolding safety technical standard, risk evaluation index system of overturning and falling accidents of scaffolding was established, 17 risk factors were determined, and a risk evaluation model based on set pair analysis method was established. weight and degree of risk. According to the principle of the Set Pair Analysis, the risk grade of each factor is divided into three levels. According to the expert's score and the weight coefficient of each risk factor, the same degree, difference degree and contrast degree are determined. Using special value method, this method is applied to the project example, and the result is that the risk level of overturned and falling accident of attached scaffolding is in controllable condition, which is in accordance with the engineering.

      Abstract:Many isolated buildings are built in China after Wenchuan earthquake and Lushan earthquake. Although the isolated structure design has been applied by structure engineering, but the maintenance and management of isolated buildings is inadequate in practical project. Based on field survey and seismic damage investigation, the deficiency of the maintenance and management of the isolated building in mainland China is summarized. Then some experiences from foreign countries are introduced, including Japan and United States. Finally, some suggestions on maintenance and management of isolated buildings are put forward from four aspects, including construction process, acceptance, peacetime inspection and BIM(Building Information Modeling)technology.

      Abstract:In order to analyze the impact of the railway track of the WJ-7 rail fastening clip by the high speed running,using the FEA Midas finite element software to establish the finite element model of the fastener system. Based on the theory of vehicle track coupling dynamics, analysising of the stress characteristics of WJ-7 type fastener bullet strip during installation and under the influence of train impact load. Comparing to the stress position and size under static and impact stress or different impact force. Elastic bar in impact force of 1kn, 2Kn and 3 kn , which is found maximum stress occurs at the contact site of elastic bar and iron backing plate. The maximum stress is 1 853 MPa. In the 10 kN buckle pressure of the static analysis, elastic strip maximum stress also occurred at the contact with the iron plate part, the maximum stress for 1 765 MPa. With the passage of the train, the elastic strip is easy to crack propagation in this region and the final crack propagation leads to fatigue fracture. The numerical analysis results are consistent with the location of multiple elastic strip breakage and the results can provide reference for the design, optimization and safety of the elastic strip in the future.

      Abstract:This paper summarizes computer technologies in green city constructionin western China, which includes risk assessment and early warning of geological disasters, ecological city planning and infrastructure construction, and green building structure system. In the risk assessment and early warning of geological disasters, GIS technology is applied together with remote sensing technology to acquire basic information of large-scale geological hazards, which is in favor of monitoring and early invention of hazards. In the ecological city planning and infrastructure construction,the earthwork analysis and land use evaluation with GIS technology, the regional traffic simulation with Transcad technology, the wind environment simulation with CFD technology and the sunshine simulation with Zhongzhi software are gradually given attention and further applied. In the green building structure system, finite element numerical method and parallel computing are playing important roles in seismic analysis of civil engineering structural systems.

      Abstract:This study established the life-cycle eco-footprint calculating model of building projects, which contained the eco-footprint in 4 aspects of life-cycle energy consumed, resource consumed, carbon emitted and solid waste produced. Space efficiency of life-cycle eco-footprint index was proposed, and used to assess the ecological sustainability of building projects. Then we investigated the eco-footprint and eco-sustainability of four different structure types (brick-concrete bungalow, multi-story brick-concrete, multi-story steel-concrete, high-rise steel-concrete) for residential building in severely cold areas. Results indicated that, compared with bungalow, high-rise building with relatively small shape coefficient and window-wall ratio had higher eco-sustainability; when the buildings had the same story, shape coefficient and window-wall ratio, steel-concrete building had higher eco-sustainability than brick-concrete building; high-rise steel-concrete structure had the greatest eco-sustainability during the 4 different structure type buildings, which was more suitable to promote.

      Abstract:In the recent years, as a passive cooling method, night ventilation is getting more and more attention. To investigate the effectiveness of night ventilation under different climatic conditions in China, Beijing、Shanghai and Guangzhou were selected as the representatives of cold region、hot-summer and cold-winter region and hot-summer and warm-winter region respectively. The building energy simulation tool Energyplus was used to model an office building and calculate the cooling energy and total energy consumption of the building with and without night ventilation in the three cities. The energy-saving effect of night ventilation was analyzed by comparison. The results show that in the same month, the effectiveness of night ventilation is improved as the latitude is increased. For the whole cooling period, even if in hot-summer and warm-winter region, night ventilation can achieve distinct energy-saving effect.

      Abstract:Building energy consumption accounts for a large proportion of energy consumption, and central air conditioning is widely used in public buildings, abuse and the lack of management make public buildings’ air conditioning energy consumption very high, especially in summer. We aimed at universities’ multi-line central air conditioning system, and in order to make terminal intelligent control system control strategic directions, we did the transformation of intelligent terminal control based on group decisions. It controls the air conditioning control panel’s electrical signals, data judgment and conveyance through Single Chip Microcomputer(SCM),and it calculates data through total server. Its control mode combines automatic control and group decisions, and users can query and send the order through a WeChat’s official account, which is connected to the database through the network. And the database entries data about air conditioning usage information, the timetable of working and studying, etc. From designing to simulating, the energy saving effect is remarkable, and the most ideal energy saving is up to 84%,in addition, this transformed system is acceptable to most students in the process of research.

      Abstract:The article analyses the annual and monthly average value and hourly monitoring data of nitrogen dioxide in YuZhong District during twelfth Five-Year in order to find out the variation tendency of nitrogen dioxide in the period,the nitrogen dioxide concentration in YuZhong District was comparatively fairly high with yearly increase in the twelfth Five-Year,the nitrogen dioxide became the primary pollutants instead of particulate matter in YuZhong District in 2015,the research shows the most of nitrogen dioxide in the atmosphere of YuZhong District from automobile emission in downtown area and it shall draw attention of authorities concerned.

      Abstract:Rainfall is an important factor affecting agricultural production, how to forecast the rainfall become the guiding agriculture, water conservancy and other important indicators of science and technology. From the point of information utilization, the single forecasting model only use the part of the rainfall data, and the combination model will be complementary to the advantages of the single model, and get a better forecasting effect. The rapid development of neural network theory and Cascade neural network prediction model is widely used in all aspects and achieved good results. According to the characteristics of rainfall curve, Through the analysis of BP neural network and RBF neural network, we can find that BP neural network can be a good fit for the rainfall has a great impact on climate information and other factors, the output of the same type of rainfall impact information, and The characteristics of RBF network can be used to extract the features of the same kind of information, and the combination of the two can greatly improve the accuracy of rainfall prediction. In view of this, the BP-RBF cascade neural network is introduced into the study of rainfall prediction. The calculation results show that the proposed method is higher than the single neural network prediction accuracy, which proves that the method is reasonable and effective.

    • Study on select mining adjacent point of the local-region method water supply forecasting model

      Abstract:Based on chaos theory local-region method is more advanced forecasting technology, for the prediction of urban daily water supply system with strong nonlinear and non-stationary characteristics, usually chaotic local method is more applicable. for chaos local-region method of daily water supply capacity prediction, most important is the use historical information, namely on adjacent points selection and use, but few people consider the adjacent points selection in the urban daily water supply forecast by using the method of local-region method, or only consider the number of adjacent points, or a position adjacent, no researcher combined the two cases. Accordingly, the combination method of the BIC information criterion and the attenuation coefficient mining data for phase space reconstruction, optimize adjacent points of the local-region method, and the model was used to predict the actual daily water supply of the water plant, the results show that the method can significantly improve the prediction accuracy of daily water supply, the average absolute error of the prediction is only 1.064%,it shows that the combination method is feasible.

    • Improvement of SVM regression forecast water supply model based on phase space reconstruction

      Abstract:Nowadays, SVM prediction model based on phase space reconstruction is widely used, and it also plays an important role in urban water supply prediction. The traditional prediction model tends to bring the reconstructed phase space into the whole, which may lead to ineffective introduction of SVM. Phase prediction method is used to improve the accuracy of prediction. Based on this, the evolutionary tracing method is introduced into the prediction model of phase space reconstruction to filter the effective points and to optimize the training samples of the prediction model. The evolutionary tracing method is used to forecast the urban water supply quantity by using MATLAB programming software. The average absolute error of forecasting result is reduced from 0.52% to 0.29%, which proves the availability and effectiveness of evolutionary tracing method.
