The heat transfer process in the louvered fin heat exchanger is analyzed, and the corresponding physical and mathematical models on the coupled conduction-convective heat transfer for the louver fin geometry are proposed. The control volume-based finite element method(CVFEM) is employed to solve numerically the problem. The computed(results) reveal the flow structure and heat transfer in the geometry in detail.Compared with the empirical correlation of heat transfer and friction coefficients previously proposed, the computed results show better consistency with the experimental results.
