Abstract:Focusing on the contradiction between overhead and performance in the codebookbased precoding scheme, a precoding method with a new codebook was proposed in which the concept of diversity was adopted in the codebook design. Performance of the codebook matrix was improved by the gain resulting from spatial diversity. Furthermore, a compensation unit for precoding was added in the scheme. The simulation results for the 4 by 4 antenna mode show that the proposed codebookbased precoding scheme for multipleinput multipleoutput system does not add any overhead and produces superior performance (approximately 1 dB to 2 dB) compared to traditional precoding schemes.
