目前普通高校通过英语教学培养的学生不能很好地用英语进行日常交流，其主要原因是大学英语四、六级考试（ＣＥＴ）造成的误导所致。ＣＥＴ的考试内容、考试方法分别对大学英语教学的教学内容、教学方法手段的选择产生了误导；ＣＥＴ的考试类型对大学英语分阶段教学也产生着严重的误导。
