近年来，高校英语测试有了较快发展，但在测试的发展方向存在一些问题。章从测试效度，题型和实施三个方面提出了看法与意见，同时讨论了高校英语测试的发展－－重视行为测试，采取计算机测试技术与人工测试相结合的方式。
