结合工程造价与投资控制课程的特点，分析了传统考试方法存在的问题，针对这些问题并根据考试方法改革的原则，增加了考试方式和次数，修改了考试成绩的评定方法，同时，经过对改革前的试卷进行分析，在保持试卷难度不变的情况下，提高了试卷的信度，使得考试的稳定性有了较大提高，从而可以根据考试成绩准确评价学生的实际能力，通过对试题的区分度进行分析，完善了试题库。
