作为土木工程专业的重要专业基础课，土力学与地基基础从学习方法到实际应用都与工程实践有密不可分的联系。目前，土力学与地基基础教学实践性不足的问题广泛存在。文章分析了该课程教学实践性不强的原因，提出强化实践教学模式，从课程学时分配、增加实践性内容、提高教师实践能力、完善实践环节课、改进实验方法等方面着手，对该课程教学从工程实践的角度予以强化。实践表明，采用新教学模式效果显著，是改善教学质量的有益探索。
