The strong theoretical and broad knowledge of engineering fluid mechanics make the teaching and learning of this course difficult. In this paper, according to the characteristics of fluid mechanics, in combination with the years of teaching practice of Engineering fluid mechanics, CFD software and source program is introduced into the auxiliary teaching of engineering fluid mechanics. Some examples of numerical simulation in the teaching of engineering fluid mechanics by using the CFD software and source code are given in this paper. The basic structure and teaching mode based on the numerical simulations are probed. The practice proved that the teaching pattern supplied a gap of traditional theoretical and experimental teaching and obtained preferable effects.
