As a new teaching approach, the bilingual teaching program has been implemented in many colleges and universities. According to the requirements of some related documents issued by the Ministry of Education, China and the China University of Mining and Technology, this paper discussed the significance, the purpose, the selection of textbook, the cultivation of the teacher group and the implements of the bilingual teaching. Some thoughts of suggestions on the bilingual teaching of soil mechanics have been proposed as well.
